Recently active organic light emitting diode (AMOLED) display technology has been widely discussed, but I think the prospects for the development of AMOLED is over hyped, regardless of its service life, even if the discussion to the cost and quality, the current mainstream technology of LCD global monitor industry is the most competitive.

Market research firm IHS Markit estimates that the demand of intelligent mobile phone and TV on the AMOLED panel grow with each passing day, global AMOLED shipments this year is expected to reach $twenty-five billion and two hundred million soared sixty-three percent; that is to say, AMOLED will dominate the global long-term leading position to challenge the LCD display technology.

But I do not agree with the prediction, the development of AMOLED TV for so many years, the global TV market share is still less than one percent last year, the market share less than%, five, and AMOLED TV every year to grow, but no one year to reach the target.

Since AMOLED TV is so popular, so hot in the world, why does not the world have second AMOLED TV panel production line investment? And so many years of development, AMOLED TV market share so low?

That's how AMOLED's display technology is being touted. AMOLED is a display technology that requires high and big money investments, which is doomed to cost and sell too high. In contrast, LCD technology is not only mature, and investment vendors are very large, you can form economies of scale, leading to a sharp decline in costs and prices, so LCD is the most cost competitive technology.

Apart from the cost, the quality of the LCD and AMOLED compared favorably, especially in recent years, through the development of LCD quantum dots (QD) technology, LCD TV to further enhance the color saturation, the color will not lose to AMOLED, plus LCD can do the entire plane, curved surface and ultra thin fuselage, plus 4K and even the ultra high resolution 8K.

As you can see, LCD is not inferior to AMOLED in terms of picture quality, color and resolution, or the appearance and shape of the TV, but the price of the same size LCD TV is far closer to that of AMOLED tv. Therefore, LCD can dominate the global TV market for a long time, and has advantages in the future. AMOLED TV has developed for many years, and the market share has been low for a long time, and it can also be explained here.
