What is the difference between medical monitors and a computer monitors?

1. Standards that support DICOM PART#14.

A professional medical display must support the DICOM PART#14 standard, that is to say, it must have the ability to adjust the DICOM standard curve to make it consistent with the DICOM standard, so as to ensure the display quality of the image.

2. Support grayscale display.

The degree is a very important characteristic of black-and-white medical images, which reflects the level between black-and-white images. Gray scale display requires video card support, medical special display should be equipped with a special graphics card; ordinary display has: 8bit-256gray scale, used to display color images, no gray scale requirements, use ordinary display card; medical display has: 10bit-1024 gray scale, used to display X-ray gray scale images, related to diagnosis, requirements: 10bit-11bit (1024-2048 gray scale).

3. Support SBC function (stable brightness control).

The brightness of the display will decline with time. Due to the lack of stable brightness control and calibration, the ordinary display not only attenuates quickly, but also due to the influence of the environment when it is used normally, its brightness can not be maintained at a level suitable for the naked eye for a long time, while professional medical gray-scale displays take into account this problem and adopt a stable brightness control technology. The feedback information of the display brightness is calibrated at any time to keep it above the standard brightness, in line with the clinical film reading standard, requiring the brightness to remain unchanged for 30, 000 or even 100000 hours.

4. Resolution.

The actual number of pixels displayed per unit area, such as 800x600, 1200x1600 and other ordinary displays are: 1024x768 1280x1204; basically horizontal screen display, no need for horizontal / vertical screen conversion; medical displays are: according to the needs of the image, can be horizontal / vertical screen conversion, 1024x1280 (vertical screen) / 1280x1024 (horizontal screen), called 1 megapixel (1MP), commonly used horizontal screen display, mostly suitable for CT, MRI, digital gastrointestinal machines; 1200x1600 (vertical screen) / 1600x1200 (horizontal screen); Known as 2 megapixel (2MP), referred to as 1K, commonly used vertical screen display, most suitable for CR, DSA, digital gastrointestinal machine, PACS reading workstation; 1536x2048 (vertical screen) / 2048x1536 (horizontal screen); called 3 megapixel (3MP), referred to as 1.5K, commonly used vertical screen display, mostly suitable for CCD-DR, PACS diagnostic workstations; 2048x2560 (vertical screen) / 2560x2048 (horizontal screen); Known as 5 million pixel (5MP), referred to as 2K, commonly used vertical screen display, mostly suitable for flat DR, breast machine, PACS diagnostic workstation; the resolution of medical display is proportional to the price, and positively related to the resolution of radiation equipment, the corresponding equipment should be equipped with the corresponding resolution display.

5. Authentication.

Ordinary displays are: there are environmental protection, electromagnetism related certification medical display: not only environmental protection, electromagnetism related certification, more importantly, medical industry certification, can enter the medical field, recognized by the law. For example, FDA 510 (K) certification in the United States, UL certification in the European Union, and CCC certification in China.

6. Security.

Ordinary display has: no LCD screen protection board, power supply for the built-in way without special requirements. Medical displays are: due to the requirements of teaching and doctors' habits, the protective board equipped with LCD screen is equipped with medical power supply for medical environment.

7. Video card.

Ordinary displays include: memory, speed, 3D indicators; medical displays include: display mode, one card and two displays, primary and secondary display interchange, color-black and white conversion, 10bit/12bit grayscale output, horizontal / vertical screen conversion.
